About Me

Maurice Thomas   Photography

Well what can I say?.................

I’m really passionate about photography and how it communicates to people and their lives.  I just love taking photo's and I especially love taking pictures of people.
I try to capture an emotion, a feeling, a moment in time that will hold a memory forever.

Photography has long been an important part of my life, I first got into photography from an early age and I am usually happier behind the lens instead of in front.

My First Camera

When I was seven years of age my father gave me my first Kodak Instamatic camera as a Christmas present. This small gift started my passion and lovefor all things photography. Brilliant photographs don't come from expensive cameras, they come from you, your eye for the shot, your imagination and interpretation of the light and the subject matter. Light and shadows are the most important ingredient in photography. What separates a great photograph from an ordinary one is that there must be some human/emotional element to your pictures. Otherwise they’re just snapshots of the event.

Great images should have an emotional connection

A great photograph tells a story, shows emotion, and is technically correct, it should be creative with the ability to draw emotions out of your subjects. But overall I just like to have fun with my photography and the people I am photographing, and I hope it comes out in the images that I take. My motto is ''Love Life, love photography''

I have always been very artistic and at school Ifurthered my education for the Arts by going to study Art & Design at Middlesex University in Enfield in 1982. Before digital, film was the medium to use at the time, I learnt how to develop and print black and white photographs. I had my own home made dark room in my parent's garage. Now we all use digital and my interest has been fuelled further still by the boundless possibilities of digital technology has to offer.

I enjoy working with people and I aim to produce beautiful, unique images by capturing a feeling, a mood, a time and a moment, creating images that has some meaning to you or your family that would last a lifetime''

Everybody loves a wedding, it is a day that you will remember for the rest of your life. Good photographers know this and capture the moment which expresses the true happiness of the day. I try to be less formal in my photography with a casual laid back approach as I find it helps to put people at ease and it gives my images a certain style. Of course I can do the formal style if required and usually there are a number of shots that couples understandably want in such style. I will always give you what you want.

I try to be competitive with the prices I charge and thus will try to tailor packages to suit your needs and budgets.

Please have a look through the site and if I can offer you what you want, drop me an e-mail/call so that we can discuss your needs..

Thanks for your time
